Want to learn about more volunteer opportunities, visit us today!
What better way to get involved in our community than looking into volunteer opportunities with the Saline County History and Heritage Society!
There are plenty of opportunities throughout the year and it is both beneficial and rewarding for yourself and the community. A lot can be accomplished when someone can apply a couple hours a week to:
- Help file
- Scan photos
- Catalog publications and artifacts
- Help with researching
- Donating time to help out at special events
- Assist with other SCHHS members and citizens of Saline County
Interested parties can contact us at 501-778-3770 or stop by to visit us at 123 N. Market Street in downtown Benton, AR to meet some of the other folks involved in SCHHS.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

November 16, 2021at 10:14 pmHi! My mom and I want to get involved with SCHHS again to volunteer, etc…we are wondering what hours/days you are open for visitors and for volunteer work? I couldn’t find that information on your site. It’s been way too long since we’ve been involved!! Oh! Also, when are the monthly meetings? Thank you!!!

May 14, 2022at 2:08 pmHi Deb,
It’s been a while. I am so sorry that no one has replied to your comment. Our site has had problems. We didn’t even know that you had tried contacting us.
We do need help at SCHHS. We are supposed to be open from 9 am to 2 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The covid has caused us to be closed to the public but the library workers have still been working on their days, but they haven’t been as rigid on the times. Pauline Brown and Carolyn Wise open on Tuesdays, Marlo and I open on Wednesdays, and Robert Edwards and Linda Everette open on Wednesdays. We have several projects that are being worked on. Robert and Linda are digitizing all the Saline Count obituaries. I have been helping by scanning the obituaries, so there is a lot of the need to be named. I hope you are still interested in being involved with us.
